Connors Joins PR Services Firm

NORWALK — ENR Services, Inc, a public relations service firm in Norwalk, recently welcomed Tom Connors of Newtown to its staff as the director of editorial services. Mr Connors’ appointment marks the first hire in a newly launched department for the firm. Tom Connors, a veteran journalist, comes to eNR from The Hour, a daily in Norwalk where he worked as the newspaper’s business editor.

In his new role, Mr Connors will develop and lead an in-house press release writing staff to service the firm’s more than 60 eNR Grassroots PR accounts. While doing so, he will manage eNR’s current base of freelance writers. His responsibilities also include measuring the hit rate of outgoing press releases through eNR’s measurement tools. Currently, Mr Connors is working on several of eNR’s Grassroots PR accounts including the Chrysler Group and Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

Tom Connors was a staff writer and editor with The Hour for three years, where he covered news from the city of Stamford and the local business beat, including the arrival of Diageo to Norwalk. Among his long list of news articles, Mr Connors reported locally on the Michael Skakel trial, an internationally covered criminal trial that took place in Norwalk two years ago.

Before becoming a journalist, Mr Connors was a high school business teacher in McLean, Va., where is was also a baseball coach. He also spent five years in corporate sales and marketing, including his time leading marketing and product development for Common Ground Clothing, a company he co-founded.

A graduate of Villanova University, Mr Connors has a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He will graduate from Quinnipiac University this year with a master’s in journalism. A Connecticut native, he attended New Fairfield High School. He is a resident of Newtown, where he lives with his wife and 7-month-old daughter.
