Collection Of Oils & Watercolors Celebrate New Milford Through The Seasons
NEW MILFORD â Rosemary Connor is offering an exhibition of tercentennial paintings in New Milfordâs historic 30 Bridge Street building. Her paintings will be on exhibit within this âgateway to New Milfordâ until May 31.
Meanwhile, a select group of Ms Connorâs paintings remain on display in The Silo/Hunt Hill Farm, 44 Upland Road, until March 25.
While touring Ms Connorâs Bridge Street exhibit, visitors will be surrounded by tercentennial history because they will be inside the first large commercial structure built in New Milford (1869â1873). Current owners, the father-son team of Jack and John Farley, have done an exemplary job of preserving the historic character of the original structure while converting it into a modern first-class office building.
Native-born Rosemary Connorâs new oils and watercolors depict the beautiful countryside in and around New Milford during the different seasons. The paintings capture varied moods of the land and reveal a keen sensitivity of place.
Starting at age seven, the artist studied with master painter Woldemar Neufeld for 11 years before receiving a BA degree from Pratt Institute. Ms Connor has participated in numerous exhibitions in New Milford, East Hampton, and New York City, where she has had four solo shows at The National Arts Club. Additionally, her work is displayed in international public, private/corporate collections and museums, including New Milford Historical Society, New Milford Hospital, and The New Britain Museum of American Art.
Rosemary Connorâs paintings are available for viewing during regular business hours: Monday through Friday, 9 am to 6 pm. For further information, the artist may be reached at 860-354-8433.
