The mouthwatering aroma of chocolate was in the air at the C.H. Booth Library as teen chefs participated in the Chocolate Test Kitchen on Monday, February 13.

The sixth through eighth graders who signed up for the program had the opportunity to create different chocolate-infused treats with the help of Young Adult Library Kim Weber and library clerk Terry Tortora.

The recipes chosen for the Chocolate Test Kitchen were tested and approved by the library's Young Adult Council prior to the event.

Each attendee received a booklet detailing how to make all the desserts, including the ROLO Turtle Cookies, Cheesecake Cookie Sandwiches, No Bake Oreo Truffles, and Hershey's Kisses S'more Bark.

Some treats required no baking at all, but for the recipes that needed an oven the chefs used the library's kitchen under the supervision of Ms Weber and Ms Tortora.

All the students were able to be hands on creating the candies and would volunteer to do certain roles like mixing, drizzling toppings, scooping, and of course - the best part -the job of taste testing at the end.
