Chapin & Friends Have Promised

A Benefit For Wilton Playshop

WILTON — “Tom Chapin & Friends,” featuring Mr Chapin, Jon Cobert and Michael Mark, will be a family show to benefit the Wilton Playshop. The performance will be at Wilton High School’s David Clune Center for the Arts, 395 Danbury Road, on Saturday, March 5.

The performance will begin at 1 pm. Tickets are $15.

Tom Chapin is a gifted entertainer who charms audiences of all ages. Anyone who has seen him perform knows what Billboard Magazine means when they say he is “one of those natural-born entertainers who, with nothing more than guitar in hand, can totally captivate.”

Jon Cobert is a studio musician, composer and arranger who has recorded with musical icons such as John Lennon, John Denver and Harry Chapin. Michael Mark received a Drama Desk Award for best supporting actor in the role of Stanley in the original Broadway cast of I Love My Wife. From there, he signed on as musical director for the national tour of I Love My Wife starring Tom and Dick Smothers. Mr Mark may be best known for writing the theme for the TV program “Entertainment Tonight.”

The show will not be a spectator event. Audience members should bring their voices and laughter, prepare to use their hands, and even expect to bounce from their seat. The “family show” is ideally suited for children ages 4 to 12, but parents and grandparents are sure to enjoy it too.

Most ages will recognize Mr Chapin’s award-winning songs like “Billy The Squid,” “Stone Soup” and “Library Song.”

Since 1937, the mission of Wilton Playshop has been to further the performing arts by providing quality live theatre to the greater Wilton area, and by doing so, provide an educational and growing experience for all involved.
