Celebrating Women Botanical Artists

BRIDGEWATER — “Women Botanical Artists, 1700-1990” will be the topic of a program presented at The Burnham Library on Sunday, March 28, at 3 pm.

Marianne North, Isabella Smith and Margaret Mee may not be household names, but their superb paintings and drawings of flowers are all found in the collections of many museums and botanical garden collections. These and other artists will be featured in the program, with their work amply illustrated by slides.

Patricia Carr of New Milford, who has pursued a lifelong interest in the fine arts and history, will present the free program.

Refreshments will be served.
