Call For Artists:

CT Vision 2004

WATERBURY — The Mattatuck Museum has announced a call for artists for the Connecticut Vision 2004 exhibit, which will open on September 23. Harry Philbrick, the director of The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in Ridgefield, will be the juror of this year’s show.

The last juried exhibition, held in 2002, attracted over 300 entries, with 33 chosen for the exhibit.

Connecticut artists are encouraged to submit one or two works of art. Works must be smaller than five feet in the largest dimension, suitable for hanging on the wall or supplied with bases for display.

All works must be hand delivered. Receiving dates are Friday, September 10, between 9 and 5 pm; Saturday, September 11 between 10 am and 5 pm; and Sunday, September 12, between noon and 5 pm.

An entry form and additional guidelines are available at www.MattatuckMuseum.org/artists/events.htm or by calling the museum at 203-753-0381 extension 10. There is a $15 entry fee for the first work and $10 for the second piece.

Numerous prizes will be awarded and selected works will be published in the exhibition catalogue. The exhibit will be on view through November 14.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help museum staff on the receiving dates are encouraged to contact associate curator Raechel Guest at 203-753-0381 extension 15.
