Newtown Bridge Club will host four weeks of free Easybridge! lessons for aspiring bridge players. For those who are interested in continuing, the lessons will continue for another ten weeks with fees charged after the four-week mark.newtownbridge.org.The story has been updated to reflect the proper date for the final session of lessons.

Lessons will be offered in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street in Newtown, where the club meets a few times each week.

The free lessons will be offered Mondays, March 14 to April 4. They will run from 9:30 to 11 am each week.

Georgeann Kishner, who will present the lessons, said the lesson program offered at the club "emphasizes fun and learning from playing.

"Beginners play in a game their first lesson, and players enjoy meeting others who are learning the game," she continued, adding, "Many friendships are formed at the bridge table."

The Easybridge! program is a 14-week series for beginners and players returning to bridge after some years. The format is a 20-25 minute lesson followed by two hours of play.

Those interested in participating are welcome to attend on their own or with friends.

Starting with Week 5 (April 11), the cost will be $12 per lesson. The series will continue to June 6.

An optional textbook is available for $15.

Newtown Bridge Club is affiliated with the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL). The club holds four ACBL-sanctioned duplicate bridge games each week: Mondays at 12:30 pm, Tuesdays at 10 am and 7 pm, and Wednesdays at 10 am.

Games are played at Edmond Town Hall.

Easybridge! Course Instructor Georgeann Kishner can be reached at 203-748-5445 or gkishner@comcast.net.
