NEW MILFORD — Katherine James, team captain for the Dear Jack team registered for the 2013 Newtown Light the Night Walk, has organized an event to raise money for her team. Join in unlimited games of bowling at Lore’s Lanes, 145D Danbury Road in New Milford, on August 17, from 4:30 to 7 pm.

Tickets are $15 and include all games during that time, shoe rental, a slice of pizza, and a soft drink. Tickets must be purchased in advance at dancehallkcx@yahoo.com or by calling 203-551-4687. The ticket price, minus costs to the bowling alley, and all funds collected through a 50-50 raffle and a raffle for prize items, will all goes directly to the Connecticut chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Newtown’s Light The Night, a public event and the culmination of fundraising for LSS by local teams, will be at Newtown Youth Academy on Saturday, September 28. A kick-off event is planned for Thursday, August 8, at 6 pm, at My Place Restaurant. The public is invited to meet LLS representatives during that event, and learn how to help LLS in its mission, or reconnect with fellow Light The Night participants.
