Book Signing & Opening Reception At Koenig FrameWorks
Local author Andrea Zimmermann will sign copies of her new book, The Case Files of Detective Laszlo Briscoe, during a reception on Friday, December 5, from 7 to 9:30 pm, at Koenig FrameWorks, 97 South Main Street (Route 25) in Newtown.
The book chronicles 63 dastardly crimes actually perpetrated in Newtown between 1889 and 1933; included are murders, arsons, assaults, burglaries, safecrackings, rapes, chicken thefts, even statutory mayhem.
These true crimes are presented by fictional detective Laszlo Briscoe, an investigator and crime diarist who keeps his true-shooting Smith & Wesson revolver at the ready. He offers insightful and sometimes humorous observations that invite the reader to reflect on human nature and the social norms of the times.
Graphic artist Ray Shaw, also of Newtown, designed the bookâs dust jacket and inside illustrations.
The Case Files of Detective Laszlo Briscoe is a hardcover book available in Newtown for $20 at the Drug Center Pharmacy, Newtown General Store, Koenig FrameWorks, and C.H. Booth Library.

The wine and cheese reception on December 5 will be a reception for the author as well as the opening of the Koenig FrameWorksâ gallery photography exhibit âPerspective,â featuring images created by Art Anderson, Bob Berthier and Frank Gardner. That exhibit will remain on view until December 24.
