Bank Offering Grants To Service Organizations

DANBURY -— The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation is now accepting applications for grants to be awarded in 2009. These grants are available to not-for-profit organizations serving both the greater Danbury and Waterbury areas in support of education, community and economic development, health and human services, and arts and culture.

Hal Wibling, president and CEO of Savings Bank of Danbury, said, “We value our role in supporting our neighbors. The foundation’s mission is to strengthen our communities by providing grants to organizations that are vital to the well-being, growth, and prosperity of the communities in which we live and work.”

Foundation grants are administered by a committee consisting of Savings Bank of Danbury corporators, directors and officers.

In 2008, a variety of grants were awarded, including to TBICO, Charles Ives Authority for the Performing Arts, Danbury Regional Child Advocacy Center, Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury, and Brass City Harvest.
