The thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost will be celebrated on September 10 along with the opening of Sunday School for the current season. Registration for Sunday School begins at 9 am followed by an opening service and class assignments. Bible classes for teens and adults will also be held at 9 am. At the 10:30 am worship service, the Senior Choir will present the anthem “All the Earth Will Sing For Joy.” The calendar for the week includes a meeting of the Social Ministry Committee after the service on Sunday. On Monday, the craft workers meet at 7 pm and the Evening Bible Study Group meets at 9 pm. On Tuesday the Finance Committee meets at 8 pm. On Wednesday the King’s Ringers chime choir meets at 7:15 pm and the Senior Choir rehearses at 8 pm. On Thursday evening there will be a parents’ meeting for the parents of this year’s confirmation class, and on Friday the Daytime Bible group meets at 12:30 pm.

The Rev Steven Gordon, senior minister, will be assisted by the Rev Janice Touloukian, associate minister, on Sunday, September 10, for the 10 am worship service. The choir will be back to sing the morning anthem, “Journey Into Light,” written by Lou Scott, son-in-law of choir tenor Dr Gene Marks. Mary Andreotta will be conducting the choir and Philip Crevier will be at the organ. Sunday School registration will be taken immediately following the service in the undercroft during the coffee hour. Sunday School, held in the Church House, begins September 17 and is held from 9:45 am until 11:15 am. The Church Council will meet after church at noon in the Sanctuary and the Music Committee will meet right after the service.
