On Friday, May 19, Fun Music Presents will produce its hit Back to The Eighties Show with Jessie's Girl at Edmond Town Hall Theatre for the residents of Newtown.

This is a family-fun show for all ages. Marcus Linial, owner of Fun Music Presents and producer of the show, is donating all costs associated with the concert and 100 percent of the low-fee ticket price to the Edmond Town Hall (ETH) Restoration Fund.

Mr Linial reached out to ETH with a desire to bring his show to Newtown. He admires the town's resilience and has always wanted to do something positive for the community, he told the historic building's Board of Managers. After speaking with ETH Manager Sheila Torres, he agreed to use his high-powered entertaining show to help the community see its beloved movie theater in a different light, while helping bring much needed restoration funds to the venue.

Jessie's Girl masters stunning renditions of the most vibrant songs of the Eighties, all while dressed up as the unforgettable characters of that decade. Bon Jovi, Cindi Lauper, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, and many more come to life right before the dazzled eyes of the crowd. It is theater meets live music smothered in 80s glitz.

"Fun Music Presents brings the fun to everything we do," said Mr Linial. "I'm excited to bring this show to the folks of Newtown and see smiles on their faces. I want them to know their friends from New York City are thinking about them. Being able to make the low ticket price a 100 percent donation to the Edmond Town Hall is a win-win. I'm looking forward to meeting as many people as I can that night."

Fun Music Presents produces more than 100 shows a year at (Le) Poisson Rouge on Bleecker Street, in the heart of the West Village in New York City. Mr Linial's two weekly shows, Back to The Eighties Show with Jessie's Girl and I Love The 90s with The Fresh Kids of Bel-Air, play to sold out crowds every week.

Mr Linial's shows also tour parts of the country and in 2015 he produced the I Want My 80's Concert at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden featuring Jessie's Girl, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Howard Jones, Debbie Gibson, DMC, Lou Gramm of Foreigner, Tiffany, and The Harlem Gospel Choir.

The band was recently written up in Time Out New York calls the show "one of the best things to do in New York on a Saturday night," and the band counts Neil Patrick Harris and Kelly Ripa among its fans. The New York Times, who called the show a "karma chameleonlike cover band ... [who] makes choreographed costume (and wig) changes to perform very danceable impressions from Cyndi Lauper to Dexys Midnight Runners."

There will be two shows on May 19. A 45-minute Family Show will start at 7 pm, with doors opening at 6:30 pm. Concessions will be available.

The Late Show starts at 9 pm (doors at 8:30 pm). Concession and beer and wine will be sold.

Tickets for both shows are $10 for adults (18 plus) and $5 for children (up to 17), with all proceeds going to the Edmond Town Hall restoration fund. Tickets will be sold only to Newtown residents for the first two weeks of sales, April 7-20. Identification and proof of address is required and there will be a limit of six tickets per family.

Edmond Town Hall, completed in 1931 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was a gift from Newtown benefactor Mary Elizabeth Hawley. It has served as the center of the community and the heart of Newtown since its inception by providing generations of residents and neighbors with governmental services space, affordable family entertainment through its theater, sports opportunities in its gymnasium, and elegant banquet space for gatherings, fundraisers, civic events or to celebrate life events.

The building generates most of its operating revenue through these services to the community and from a modest trust fund disbursement. The aging but graceful building is in need of renovation. Events in recent years have helped restore the iconic building.

Tickets for the Newtown shows will be available through edmondtownhall.org. They can also be purchased by calling the ETH Board of Managers Office, 203-270-4285.
