Atrial Fibrillation & Osteoporosis Programs At Danbury Hospital In February

DANBURY — Learn about the latest medical, surgical, and technological advances in treating atrial fibrillation, the most common form of cardiac arrhythmia, at the next Danbury Hospital medical town meeting “Cardiac Health: Stabilizing the Rhythm of Atrial Fibrillation” on Tuesday, February 10, from 7 to 8:30 pm. The program will take place in the hospital auditorium, 24 Hospital Avenue.

 Park free in the Blue Visitor’s Parking Lot, Hospital Avenue entrance for all medical town meetings.

Featured speakers will be Michael Argenziano, MD, a practicing physician in New York City and assistant clinical professor of surgery at Columbia University; Jude Clancy, MD, a New Haven electrophysiologist who is also an assistant clinical professor of medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, Section of Cardiology; and David L. Copen, MD, medical director of the Jack and Richard Lawrence Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Danbury Hospital, associate clinical professor of medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, and physician member of the Danbury office of Physician Services, PC. Kevin Bill, MS, program director of the Marcus Cardiac Rehabilitation Center at Danbury Hospital, will facilitate the evening program.                            

A Medical Town Meeting discussing “Modern Concepts in the Medical & Surgical Treatment of Osteoporosis” will take place on Tuesday, February 24, from 7 to 8:30 pm, at Danbury Hospital’s auditorium.

Featured speaker will be Javed Shahid, MD, attending physician, Danbury Hospital Department of Surgery, and chief of neurosurgery; Thomas Nipper, MD, orthopedic surgeon and member of Brookfield Orthopedic Associates, PC, and Darlene Klosen, a physical therapist from the Danbury Hospital Main Street Physical Rehabilitation Center. They will address current advances in the medical and surgical treatment and management of osteoporosis.

Ample time will be provided for audience questions. Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meetings are free, monthly health and wellness programs open to the public. No RSVP is required. Educational materials, a prize drawing, and light refreshments also will be provided.
