To the Editor:

[The Newtown Lions Club] wants to give a big shout-out to our [Duck Race] sponsor - Norcom Mortgage Force of Shelton. We also received a generous donation from American Wire, and we are very grateful for that. We would like to thank Mike Porco and SHOP for allowing us to use The Glen and the sidewalks of Sandy Hook for the Duck Race festivities. We also would like to thank the vendors who joined us on Saturday, May 26, and who made this such a great community event.

A big thanks to the following businesses that sold Duck Race tickets for us or allowed us to sell tickets in front of their establishments: Bagel Delight, Berkshire Motors, Blue Colony Diner, C.H. Booth Library, Butcher's Best, Carminuccio's, Cork-N-Barrel, Dodgingtown Liquors, Earth Day Event, Franco's, General Store, Hawleyville Plaza, Joanne Fitness Studio, My Place, Newtown Deli, Newtown Hardware, Pizza Palace, PJ's Laundromat, Queen Street Cleaners, Sandy Hook Deli, Sandy Hook Diner, Sandy Hook Hair Co, Toy Tree, Village Perk, Yankee Wine, Your Healthy Pet, the Tax Collector's Office, and Newtown Parks and Rec.

We would also like to thank the businesses who donated prizes: Sandy Hook Diner, Blue Colony Diner, Cover Two Restaurant, My Place, Sal e Pepe, Sandy Hook Hair Co, Pizza Palace, Sabrina Style, Marketplace Restaurant, Farmhouse Restaurant, Fun Kuts, Toy Tree, The Newtown Bee, Nick's Chilled and Distilled, Nassar's Hair Salon, Nouveau Monde Wine Bar, Barnwood Grill, Carminuccio's Pizza, Stone Gardens, Berkshire Motors, Figs Restaurant, Edmond Town Hall Movie Theater, The Villa Restaurant, and the Town Player's Little Theatre.

With the help of our entire community, we have raised money that will be donated to 80 charities.
