To the Editor:

The Economic Development Commission invites the community to participate in the 6th Annual Passport to Sandy Hook event on Saturday, October 8, between 11 am and 4 pm (rain or shine). This event creates an opportunity to stroll through Sandy Hook Village, visit local businesses, while enjoying The Glen and Pootatuck River. Plus, there's a chance to win over $3,000 in prizes!

The Passport to Sandy Hook is a community event for families of all sizes. Don't miss the activities for children and adults to enjoy. A bounce house, arts and crafts, live music, dance performances, food and refreshments, discounts and samples all await you. It's a fall festival in the village. Don't forget to bring a donation for the FAITH Food Pantry as they prepare needed inventory for the holiday season.

The Sandy Hook Village business association, SHOP (Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity), has developed this program, promoting the concept of "Buy Local First." When buying locally, you support shop owners to thrive, create jobs within our town, which all strengthens our economy and character.

Sandy Hook Village is the home of delicious restaurants, coffee shops, and services. I encourage you to visit Sandy Hook Village on October 8, possibly for lunch or dinner and participate in the community fun. Learn more by visiting www.sandyHhookvillage.com and bring a friend or two. See you there!
