Amy Noel Komar

Amy Noel Komar, 35, of Oxford died peacefully June 14 in St Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by family. Born in Bridgeport on January 6, 1981, she was the daughter of Cynthia (Marquis) and Gary Komar of Oxford.www.hullfh.com.

A 1999 graduate of Seymour High School, Ms Komar earned two master's degrees from the University of Bridgeport and worked as both a teacher and tutor in the Oxford and Newtown school systems. She volunteered at St Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford and at St Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport on the Patient Family Advisory Board and in the Patient Relations Department, touching many lives with her encouragement and spiritual help.

She will be remembered for her love of the New York Mets, but most importantly, her love of hot pink.

In addition to her loving parents, her brother, Matthew Komar of Stratford; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her special friend, Derek Wilson, survive her.

Her paternal grandparents, Mary (Homa) and John Komar, and her maternal grandparents, Leona (Beaudry) and Robert Marquis, predeceased her.

The Komar family would like to thank Dr Spencer, Dr Baerhing and their staff at YNNH, Dr Blondin at St Vincent's, as well as special friends and family who supported and showed compassion to Ms Komar and her family during her illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Ms Komar's life will take place on Friday, June 17, at 10 am, in St Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road (Route 67), Oxford. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street Seymour.
