Albert J. Krawiecki

Albert J. Krawiecki, 88, of Norwalk died peacefully at his home on June 9. He was the loving husband for 60 years of Beatrice M. Smith Krawiecki. He was born in Newtown January 26, 1929, the son of the late Felix and Veronica Kozlofski Krawiecki.

Mr Krawiecki was a former member of the Norwalk and Newtown Lions Clubs, was a lifetime bowler, and was an avid marathon and long-distance runner. He completed in marathons eight times; his best time was in the Boston Marathon in 1951 with three hours and ten minutes.

He was a member of St Matthew Church in Norwalk with an involved commitment to prayer. He had a special interest and dedication to the provision of personal and community experiences for adults with visual impairments. Mr Krawiecki also had a special commitment and love for the care of the land.

Mr Krawiecki was an elementary school teacher in Norwalk for many years prior to his retirement.

In addition to his wife Beatrice; his children and their spouses, Patti-Ann and Richard Ball, Marci-Ann and Gary Calabrese, Barbi-Ann Krawiecki, and Jon Marc Krawiecki; his grandchildren, Sadie Ball, Remy Ball, Gina Calabrese, and Vito Calabrese; his brother, Valery Krawiecki and his wife, Barbara; and several nieces and nephews survive him.

His siblings Edward, Frank, and William Krawiecki and Wanda Krawiecki Towner predeceased him.

Mr Krawiecki's family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk on Tuesday, June 13, from 4 to 7 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 14, 10 am, at St Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St John's Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Parents & Friends of LFC, 146 Silvermine Avenue, Norwalk CT 06850.
