A Mid-Career Retrospective:

Duffy To Lecture In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — Internationally renowned portrait painter Daniel Mark Duffy will speak at the Fairfield Library on Wednesday, March 4, at 1 pm.

The Newtown resident will present “A Mid-Career Visual Retrospective,” in which he plans to discuss the importance of training and apprenticeship for the visual artist, the challenges of maintaining a professional portrait business, how to collaborate in commercial and children’s book projects, and what he learned when he plunged back into the fine arts arena.

Mr Duffy will bring original works and slides which will show the scope of his award-winning work, and he will discuss his whirlwind portrait project for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as his current portrait project in Dublin, Ireland.

The artist says he is looking forward to lively discussion and healthy debate from artists and those who appreciate art.

The Fairfield branch of the National League of American Pen Women is hosting the event, which is open to all. For more information call 261-4621.
