To the Editor:

On September 16, we had our 24th annual Health Fair at the Reed School - an exceptional day due to the work of many people. The utmost thanks to Mark Pirizollli and his crew (Darrin, Steve, and Ray). Mrs Uberti has a terrific facility and staff to whom we are most grateful. Our Public Works crew and Sandy Hook Fire also lent strong, efficient, helping hands.

Thanks to all the exhibitors and participants at the fair; they are truly a joy to work with. Thanks to John Voket our task master with all his great music and incredible voice. A special thanks to our sponsors, American Red Cross, Aqua Environmental Lab, Bethel Visiting Nurse Association, Connecticut Tick Control, Scot L. Goldberg, DC, Della Schmid, DC, Sophia Natural Health, and the Newtown Prevention Council. Heartfelt thanks to our superb pizza makers who faithfully support us - Carminuccio's, Franco's, My Place Restaurant, Newtown Pizza Palace, and The Villa. It is all of this support that makes such an event possible.

Newtown is fortunate to have such dedicated and talented people. We are blessed to have terrific community events that bring us together, and let us have some good clean fun. To all the fair's attendees, thank you for coming, it is for you that we share all of the free health screenings and health and safety info to keep Newtown great.

A very special thank you to Dr Grossman and Dr Draper, board members Dr Bill Begg, Joan Crick, Herb Rosenthal, Bernie Meehan, and Curtis Read, and Health District staff (Maureen, Mike, Ed, Suzette and Keith) - all the support and hard work make the difference every day, and especially fair day!

See you next year!
