To the Editor:

There is no more important commission in Newtown than Planning & Zoning. The Planning & Zoning Commission is responsible to promote the orderly and coordinated development of the town and the general welfare and prosperity of its residents. The commission controls and directs the use and development of property in a municipality or a large part of it by dividing it into zoning districts. The commission regulates the principal and accessory uses permitted within these districts.

Barbara Manville has been an alternate to the P&Z for the last two years and has had the opportunity to not only learn the roles and functions, but to have filled in when a member could not attend. Barbara is now running for a full seat on the commission and I can't think of a more qualified individual. Experienced, thoughtful, dependable, and deeply involved in Newtown. Please consider Barb Manville when you enter the voting booth. She is a valuable asset to Newtown and will serve you wisely.
