Precision Computer Services Inc (PCS) of Shelton has been sponsoring Make-A-Wish Connecticut wishes for roughly 20 years, according to Project Manager Melissa FitzSimons Inconstanti, daughter of PCS President and Chief Executive Officer Michael FitzSimons. And recently, the company was given the option to support a wish at Inconstanti’s alma mater, Newtown High School.

As a 2008 graduate, Inconstanti said she wanted to help this particular project for that reason, and that the student’s wish would help other students. Usually, she said, wishes granted are to send a child to Disney World, and she was blown away by the selflessness exhibited in the recent NHS project.

As previously reported in The Newtown Bee (The Newtown Bee, October 23, “NHS Student Proves The ‘Power Of A Wish’”), NHS senior Cameron Powers, who has cystic fibrosis, chose to use her one wish granted by Make-A-Wish Connecticut to give back to her school. Between December 2019 and September 2020, a room in the school was transformed for Unified Program students to use with friends. The room now boasts blue and gold details, a foosball table, a ping-pong table, chairs and tables, and a piece of art that has the words, “Our family is complete when everyone is included.” A new sign for the room reads, “Unified Lounge. Est 9/2020. Donated by Cameron Powers.” And it hosts a computer gifted by PCS.

Along with sponsoring Cam’s wish financially, PCS provided a new computer for the room, so students can do homework.

Newtown residents Jerry Reidy and Julie Dunn acted as wish granters on the project by working with Make-A-Wish Connecticut to make Cam’s wish come true, according to Make-A-Wish Connecticut Marketing, Communications & Digital Manager Carin Buckman.

When selecting a computer for the room, Inconstanti said PCS made sure it had a “nice big display” for the students.

“She was giving back to her classmates,” Inconstanti said about why she was so impressed by Cam’s wish. “I thought that was huge.”

“It’s been a pleasure to work with Make-A-Wish over the years,” said Inconstanti.
