The Book Desert is Over; Curbside Available

Use any of the library’s means of communication to ask for materials Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm. The best way is to use the Evergreen catalog with your library card. You can text 475-215-2754, or you can call 203-426-4533.

You can chat from our website — just click “Ask A Librarian.” You can also e-mail help@chboothlibrary.org.

When your items have been retrieved, you will be contacted to set up a pickup time on our front lawn on Main Street, at our tent. Pickups are by appointment only Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, between 1 and 4 pm. On Thursdays we provide the service from 1 to 7 pm, and we now do Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm.

Please let us know if you require assistance or your items delivered to your trunk.

For staff and patron safety, we do not accept returns at curbside.

In order to safely receive returns, the Library has closed its book drops temporarily and set up drop off days and times. Starting June 8, these return times will be Tuesdays, noon to 4 pm; Thursdays, 3 to 7 pm; and Saturdays, 10 am to 1 pm. Come to the back parking lot and go to the POD of the day to drop off your items. These returns days are dependent upon the weather, so if rain or thunderstorms are in the forecast, contact us first.

Library Children’s Programs

Sign up for Summer Reading beginning June 16 at chbooth.readsquared.com. Unfortunately, we will not have any in-person reporting this year. Pick up a “Summer Reading To-Go” packet at one of the tables under the tent in front of the library. Inside, you will find beads, a necklace (to reward yourself for reading), and the details of our weekly summer fun challenges. Each week there will be a new set of challenges. For each challenge you complete, take a photo and e-mail your entry to summerfunraffle@chboothlibrary.org. Submit your entry by Saturday of the current week to earn a chance to win one of four gift certificates worth $25 each.

Celebrate the end of school and the start of summer by attending a virtual concert, Friday, June 19, at 3:30 pm, when Matthew Mazur of Turtle Dance Music performs live via boxcast tv. “Imagine Your Story— the Virtual Concert,” is a music, bubble, and comedy show featuring flying books, dancing unicorns, and songs about autism awareness and acceptance. Join us for this novel 30-minute performance, which will be accompanied by dancing, singing, imaginative storytelling, laughter, and a love for the public library system. Paste the link in your browser to enjoy the show: boxcast.tv/view/cyrenius-h-booth-library-presents-imagine-your-story-a-music-bubble-and-comedy-show-by-turtle-dance-music-26027.
