Night Photography & Light Painting Photography Program Planned
Flagpole Photographers Camera Club’s March events include a presentation on Night Photography and Light Painting, and a club meeting with competition for members.
This month the club is also presenting “Animals,” an exhibition of photography on display at Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street. The exhibit can be seen during normal business hours — generally weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm — to March 30.
In the first event, hosted by club member Darrell Harrington, attendees will learn tips and tricks to take photos after dark. Those planning to attend should bring their camera.
The program is scheduled for Thursday, March 12, at 7:30 pm, at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street.
The competition theme for the March 26 meeting is “Inside Your Home.” That program-meeting will begin at 7:15 pm, and will also be at Newtown Senior Center.
Members compete in a different assignment each month, as well as in three additional categories: Open Digital, Open Color, and Open Monochrome. While the competition is only open to members, the public is invited to listen to critiques and learn about photography.
There is no charge to attend Flagpole Photographers Camera Club competitions.
Flagpole Photographers is a local nonprofit group that enables members to share their images and expertise, to learn and grow in their photography, and to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow photographers who come from diverse backgrounds, with photographic skills ranging from novices to professionals.
New members are always welcome to join the club and may enter their work in monthly club competitions, participate in workshops, take field trips, get involved in community programs, and take part in annual exhibits.
Dues are $25 per person or $40 for a family joining at or after the March competition meeting. Students may join at no charge.
