SMITHTOWN, N.Y. — On Sunday, May 6, the Smithtown Historical Society and Elias Pekale Antique Shows Ltd, will present the 3rd Annual Antiques & Garden Antiques Show from 10 am to 4:30 pm on the historical society grounds, 5 North Country Road. Proceeds from the show will support activities sponsored by the society.

“The society has always had solid support and a strong presence in the community. This antiques event continues to increase in attendance, endorsing our decision to promote this show,” said promoter Shiela Pekale. The many new exhibitors this year will be displaying decorative arts, textiles, documents, garden objects, tools and furniture of yesterday.

The show features 60 exhibitors presenting quality antiques as well as collectibles. Times Past Antiques features original and restored phonographs and Depression glass; J&J Antiques (Jeanne & John) displays country furniture paintings; Your Grandma Had It brings McCoy and Shawnee pottery; Harry & Ginny bring enamelware and exquisite oyster plates; Irene Nardolillo shows decorative folk art. With postcards, silver, vintage textiles, garden accessories, estate and costume jewelry, there will be something for everyone.

The society’s many activities include, research, conservation and preservation of Long Island’s past. The society maintains several historic houses on its grounds: the Judge J. Lawrence Smith homestead, circa mid-1700; Epenetus Smith Tavern, circa 1740; Franklin Arthur Farmhouse, circa 1740; Roseneath Cottage circa 1918.
