26th Year For Meals On Wheels

To the Editor,

Newtown Meals-On-Wheels enters its 26th year delivering meals to the town’s homebound residents. We again wish to thank those who make this possible.

Thank you to The Newtown Bee for helping us with appeals for drivers and coverage of our events such as the annual Coffee for Volunteers.

Thank you to Herb Rosenthal for attending the coffee as a representative of the town.

Thank you to Tom Gutner, president of Ashlar of Newtown, and the wonderful staff for hosting the coffee and preparing the recipients’ meals.

Thank you to the generous businesses of Newtown for donating over 100 door prizes for drivers in attendance.

And a big thank you to the over 100 drivers who deliver the meals. Anyone wishing information on volunteering, please call Colleen Honan, driver-coordinator, at 426-3913.
