Rose Madaffari Raymond, 82, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, died peacefully July 16, after a long illness. She was born on January 30, 1935, in Norwalk, daughter of the late Teresa and Pietro Madaffari.

Mrs Raymond devoted her life to her children, 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and her Christian faith.

Her children and their spouses, Marjorie and Jon Arnold of Newtown; Phylis and Tom Santora of Milford; Theresa and Kim Fischman of Shelton; Paul and Peggy Raymond of Shelton; Larry Raymond of Terryville; Richard and Gloria Raymond of Bridgeport; and Philip and Sue Raymond of Florida survive her. In addition, Mrs Raymond is survived by her brother, Vincent of Florida, and her sister, Josephine of Texas.

Her husband, Philip Raymond; her son, David Raymond; and her brothers Joseph, Peter, Carmelo, Anthony, and Mario, predeceased her.

Mrs Raymond worked her earlier years at Bargain World and Food Fair, retired from Stirling and Stirling as an insurance adjuster, then worked part-time as a receptionist for Dr James Aris.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr Richard Zelkowitz and Dr Richard Frank of the Norwalk Oncology Department. The family is also grateful for the tremendous love and caring provided by the nurses at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.

Her family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, July 19, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday, July 20, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at St John's Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
