SCAN Planning Its

Spring Art Show

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown, Inc. (SCAN) has announced its 34th annual juried spring art show will be held at Cyrenius H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street in Newtown, from May 1 to May 9. Admission is free and the show can be visited during regular library hours.

The show will include more than 150 works of art in oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, graphics, print making, and sculpture.  Many prize-winning artists from local area and adjacent states will be represented.

A reception and award ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 1, from 2 to 4 pm. The public is invited. Many of the show’s artists will be in attendance.

The show will be open Saturdays, May 1 and 8, from 10 am to 5 pm; Sunday, May 2, 1 to 5 pm; Monday through Thursday, May 3-6, 10 am to 8 pm; and Friday, May 7, noon to 5 pm. The show will be on view on Sunday, May 9, from 1 to 3 pm only. Organizers will begin dismantling the show after 3.

This year’s Spring Show co-chairs are Sheila Runkis (203-445-9975) and Lisa Greto (426-1212).
