A new Ben’s Bells mural has been completed at St Rose of Lima School. The mural, made up of predominantly green tiles, with the words “Be kind,” now adorns a wall in the school’s interior front entrance.

The mural was a gift from the Class of 2018, and former students returned on November 30 to view the completed mural. St Rose of Lima School parent Maria Gotch coordinated the project. According to the school, the Class of 2018 was compelled to leave a message of kindness based on the group’s experience at the school; the students also expressed feeling a connection to the greater Newtown community and other schools in town with Ben’s Bells murals. The mural was completed between November 5 and 6, when a group of parents and alumni worked with a representative of Ben’s Bells to place the mural on the wall.

St Rose Principal Bardhyl Gjoka said the mural speaks to the school’s character. He praised the students for their work to bring the mural to the school.

“This is here to stay,” said Mr Gjoka, adding that the message is one the needs to be remembered “in today’s world.”

Every graduating class gives a gift to the school.
