'Unity In Diversity' Programs Preview

Unity in Diversity, a weekly television program that features interviews with prominent pastors, rabbis, imams and other spiritual leaders of a variety of local faith communities, can be viewed on Charter Communications channel 192 each Monday at 12:30 pm and again on Wednesday at 5:30 pm.

Through the programs, viewers learn about Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Bahai, Unitarianism or one of the many Christian communities, including Orthodox, Anglican, Protestant and Roman Catholic, all in a non-threatening manner.

The host of the series is the Reverend Leo McIlrath, DMin. A resident of Sandy Hook, Rev McIlrath currently serves as the ecumenical chaplain for The Lutheran Home in Southbury.

Programs and their guest and/or subjects for the coming weeks are as follows: August 15 and 17, Reverend Laura Westby and "The Congregational Journey"; August 22 and 24, The Reverend Paul Beavers, former director of pastoral care at Danbury Hospital; August 29 and 31, Father Luke Mihaly, pastor, Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Danbury; September 5 and 7, "A Walk with The Friends," The Quaker Community of Greater New Milford; and September 12 and 14, "Methodism - a local clergyman's perspective."
