St Rose of Lima Church will host a special event, “The Spirituality of Waiting — an evening of reflection,” on Thursday, December 11, at 7 pm.

The program will be held in the church’s Holy Innocents Faith Formation Center, 38B Church Hill Road.

Bill Walsh, from Holy Family Retreat Center, will be the guest speaker.

The irony of the Advent season is that right when faith traditions calls for men and women to slow down and wait patiently in preparation for the celebration of Christmas, today’s culture sounds the bell to rev up and make already overly busy and stressful lives even more hectic. Mr Walsh will lead a conversation on the spirituality of waiting.

He will challenge guests to consider: What are we waiting for and how do we wait for it?
