To the Editor: I heard a rumor the other day: Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) were enlisting the support of Members of Congress to institute a new approach to battle the scourge of drunk driving. The foundational theme of the new program is to make it illegal for everyone to drive. To actually outlaw cars. You see, since so many people are killed each year as a result of drunk driving it’s only common sense to reduce and ultimately eliminate the cause of all the destruction and human suffering: the cars!
To the Editor: As taxpayers and residents of Newtown for over 30 years, we have seen many political candidates come and go… along with changes in the issues they might believe and represent. One constant for Newtown has been the hard work and leadership of Jim Gaston St.
To the Editor: John Godin should be returned to the Board of Finance and I write to urge the voters of Newtown to do just that. I base this opinion on not only my following of his actions on that board but also on my knowledge of him in general.
To the Editor: I’m very pleased to write this letter of endorsement for my friend and neighbor Tony Filiato. Tony is running for reelection to a seat on the Legislative Council for the Third District. My family and I have known Tony and his family for the Third District. My family and I have known Tony and his family for several years and I can firmly attest that he’s a man of great integrity who genuinely wants what’s best for Newtown.
To the Editor: I am writing to convey my support for Neil Chaudhary for Legislative Council in District 3. I am always impressed by Neil’s willingness to hear all sides of an argument and make decisions using all the facts. He is not afraid to delve into politically hot topics and said to me once “Until we ask what the pros and cons are, we can’t decide whether it’s a good or bad idea.”
