  • Alice M. Schlierf

    Alice M. Schlierf, 82, of Ridgefield died peacefully June 4, surrounded by her children and family. She was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., September 12, 1931, to Elizabeth (Larkin) and James J. Reilly. Mrs Schlierf and her husband, the late Frank A. Schlierf, lived in Yonkers for more than 20 years, where they raised their family.

  • Richard W. Andrews, Sr

    Richard W. Andrews, Sr, 90, died after a brief illness, June 6, at his Newtown home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Sandy Hook, November 12, 1923, the son of Georgie Northrop Andrews and Lewis V. Andrews, Sr.

  • Frances O’Toole

    Frances O’Toole, 91, of Heritage Village, Southbury, formerly of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., died peacefully at home June 4. The widow of James C. O’Toole, she was born March 23, 1923, in Bronx, N.Y., daughter of Mary Mabel and William F. O’Brien.

  • Michael Sedor

    Michael Sedor, 98, of Newtown died quietly at home June 7. He was a lifelong resident of Newtown and was born in 1915, in the farmhouse on Currituck Road.

  • Edwin John Harrison, Jr

    Edwin John “Jack” Harrison, Jr, 73, of Newtown died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on May 30, the 50th wedding anniversary of his marriage to Beryl. He was born in Philadelphia May 1, 1941, the only son of Anna Peterson Harrison and Edwin John Harrison. His uncle was Eric Knight, author of Lassie Come Home, and he often talked of Eric’s dog, Toots, a Border collie that was the original Lassie.

  • Rita Peck

    Rita (Garamella) Peck, 83, of Southbury died peacefully June 3, with family by her side. She was born in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Lena (Comarota) and Antonio Garamella.

  • Dorothy Johnson

    Dorothy “Dottie” Johnson of Monroe, Trumbull, and Naples, Fla., died June 1. She was born in the Bronx, N.Y. Ms Johnson was a longtime resident of Trumbull and for 15 years, a part-time resident in Monroe. She also had 27 years of winter residence and was a member at the Foxfire Country Club Community in Naples.

  • Henry S. Kostka

    Henry S. Kostka, 66, of Sandy Hook died May 30 in Danbury Hospital. Mr Kostka was the husband of Bonnie (Fesh) Kostka. He was born in Derby, September 7, 1947, a son of Beatrice (Scott) and Henry Kostka.

  • Monsignor William Loughlin

    Monsignor William Loughlin, 87, of Trumbull, died May 26, at St Joseph’s Manor in Trumbull. He was born in Wharton, N.J. His many friends, especially Joe and Mary Mitchell of Bridgeport, survive him.

  • Marcia Fried

    Marcia (Nechin) Fried, 89, of Newtown, formerly of New Milford, N.J., for more than 60 years, died May 27. She was the widow of the late Mitchell Fried.
