• James H. Shortt

    James H. Shortt, 86, of Sandy Hook, “The Commander,” died peacefully June 5 at Village Crest Health and Rehabilitation Center, New Milford. He was the husband of Laura J. Shortt, who died in 2002. He grew up on the family dairy farm in Southbury and enlisted in the US Army at the age of 18, serving with the rank of staff sergeant during the Korean War.

  • Roberta A. Savino Forno

    Roberta A. Savino Forno, 81, died June 16 in the ICU at Danbury Hospital. A longtime resident of Sandy Hook, she was born in Bridgeport, December 7, 1932, to Dorothy (Turgeon) and Louis J. Savino, Sr. She was the widow of the late Frank Forno, Sr.

    Eileen D. Plaia, 67, of Newtown died peacefully June 13, with her family at her side. She was the wife of Michael C. Plaia. Born in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Alan and Florence Wojcik Roddy. A resident of Newtown for the past four years, she was a previous longtime resident of Ridgefield.

    Beverly A. (Lindquist) Keeler, 72, of Danbury died June 11 at Danbury Health Care Center, surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Norwalk, the daughter of Foster Lindquist and Harriet Whiting.

    The Reverend Thomas Malcolm Waltz, 80, of Covenant Woods, Mechanicsville, Va., originally from Detroit and formerly of Newtown, died June 11.

  • Annette Y. Crevier

    Annette Yvonne (Charette) Crevier, 91, of Southbury and formerly of Hartford and Wethersfield, died peacefully June 10, at Pomperaug Health Center in Southbury. She was born August 20, 1922, in Fitchburg, Mass., one of seven children of Alphonsine (Lachapelle) and Albert Charette.

    Chester W. Seavey, 91, of Southbury, and previously a longtime resident of Newtown, died May 23 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Veronica (Willey) Seavey. He was born in Livermore Falls, Maine, December 13, 1922, a son of Bulah (Alden) and William Seavey.

    Julie Genz, 51, a longtime resident of Sandy Hook, died June 9. She was born in Elizabeth, N.J., March 19, 1963, and lived in both New Jersey and Connecticut over her lifetime.

    Eliot Tso Liang, 91, a Dutchess County area resident since 1966, died June 9, at his home. Born in Kiangsi Province, China, May 22, 1923, he was the son of Meru Lee and Gikan Liang.

    Thomas John Stella, 81, of Danbury died June 8 at Bethel Healthcare Center. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann (Schoen) Stella. He was born January 23, 1933, in Scranton, Penn., the son of Anna (Mahalik) and Thomas U. Stella.
