Chileon L. “Chick” Dickerson, Jr, 84, of Sandy Hook, died October 24, in Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was born September 12, 1929, in Bridgeport, a son of Chileon and Jeanette (Nichols) Dickerson. He was the husband of Mary (Beers) Dickerson.
Madeline Lillian (Pilotte) Jerolmon, 88, of Newtown, died October 27 at Danbury Hospital, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Haven, June 18, 1925, and was the daughter of Mary (Sullivan) and George Pilotte. For the past 50 years she resided in Newtown.
Robert L. Sheron, 82, of Litchfield, died peacefully, October 24, surrounded by loving family, at Geer Nursing Center, Canaan. He was born in Waterbury, November 2, l930, to Michael and Patricia Gogas Sheron. He was the husband of Terry Sheron, a longtime former ad representative at The Newtown Bee.
Shirley Zalinger, 86, of Chatsworth, Calif., and formerly a 44–year resident of Fairfield, died peacefully, October 22. She was born January 10, 1927, in Bronx, N.Y. She was married to her beloved husband, the late Charles Zalinger, for 59 years.
Maria Orama, 74, died October 17, at Vitas Hospice at St Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, May 27, 1939, daughter of Juan and Andrea Ruiz Cuevas, and was the beloved and devoted wife of Jose A. Orama, Sr.
oseph J. Della Gioia, 84, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Mary Margaret Kelly Della Gioia, died October 16, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr Della Gioia, a US Army veteran of the Korean War, was born in Stratford to Antonio and Leanarda (Intonte) Della Gioia, and has been a life long area resident.
Kathleen Brigid (McCausland) Gunn, 66, of North Attleborough, Mass. and formerly of Newtown, died October 18, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Born in New York, N.Y., on June 1, 1947, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Cullinane) McCausland. She was the wife of James M. Gunn to whom she was married on February 22, 1969, in New York.
Lissie Ingbritt Fagerholm, 76, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Carl A. Fagerholm, died due to complications from ALS, October 11, with her children by her side. Born in Väckelsång, Sweden, on August 15, 1937, to Karl Fransson and Anna Magnusson, she was raised on the family farm and immigrated to the United States as a teenager, after coming to visit relatives.
