Newtown Youth & Family Services (NYFS) will conduct a soccer event at Newtown High School's Blue & Gold Stadium, which will raise funds for peer-to-peer mentoring programs in the community. Soccer Night in Newtown, featuring an exhibition match between Connecticut Soccer League Champion Newtown Pride FC and national champion Westchester United, will take place Saturday, August 20. Game time is 6 pm.

This match is the make-up date for an event that had been scheduled in May, featuring a similar ticket. The new date will feature one match instead of a double header, but will still serve as a fundraiser for NYFS.

All tickets are $5, and they will be available at the gate, 12 Berkshire Road. Those interested in purchasing tickets in advance can do so by visiting newtownyouthandfamilyservices.org and clicking on the Upcoming Events tab.

All net proceeds from the event, including ticket sales, will go to Newtown Youth & Family Services.

Newtown Pride FC is one of eight teams in the Connecticut Soccer League. Newtown defeated Glastonbury Celtic FC in the CSL finals in New Britain in June to pick up this year's championship title.

The Westchester United Soccer Predators are part of the West Chester United Soccer Club program in Pennsylvania.

For more than 30 years Newtown Youth & Family Services has been providing mental health and community support services to the greater Newtown area. NYFS continues to provide after school activities, support groups, social groups for children with autism spectrum disorder, and programs for preschool, youth, and teens, as well as provide financial assistance for counseling to children and families.

NYFS is dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. The agency's vision is to become a recognized leader in providing mental health and support services.

For additional information call 203-270-4335 or visit the NYFS website.
