The Fourth Annual Newtown Arts Festival opened last Friday with William Inge’s classic theater piece, Bus Stop. Celebrating 80 years of community theater, The Town Players of Newtown are continuing their tradition of producing quality work that excels in every way.

The second annual Newtown Play Festival is gearing up for production during the 2015 Newtown Arts Festival. The two-day outdoor festival will be presented September 19-20 at Fairfield Hills.
Producers Maureen Trotto and Elizabeth Young are seeking ten minute plays by local playwrights. If you have been hanging on to one for years, shake off the dust and send it over. If an idea has been percolating in your mind, put pen to paper and send it in.

NEW MILFORD — TheatreWorks New Milford is currently offering the edgy, puppet populated and Tony Award winning musical Avenue Q, with music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marks, book by Jeff Whitty, and based on the original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marks. These are adult-only puppets with a message for the child in all of us.

Marilyn Hart and Adam Stordy are the famous gunslinging outlaws Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, who are in turns loving and playful and angry and quarrelsome in Adam Peck’s play about the pair, currently in production at TheatreWorks New Milford.

Photo bombs continue to be a very popular trend, and this week I spotted one of my own doing just that. When one of our Bee photographers was out collecting Bee’s Buck photos last week, she didn’t realize that while she was trying to sneakily take a photo for this week’s challenge photo, the photographer herself was also being watched.
