• ‘Annie Jr’ Being Staged Friday And Saturday At Reed

    With Reed Intermediate School’s musical production of Annie Jr set to take the stage this Friday, May 8, at 7 pm, and Saturday, May 9, at 6 pm, Director Sharon Vetrano said on May 5, the students and everyone involved in the production are excited.

    “They are absolutely amazing,” said Ms Vetrano before a run-through rehearsal started on Tuesday. “They worked so incredibly hard.”

    The plot of Annie Jr follows a young orphan girl as she searches for a family.

  • Reed Students Preparing To Perform ‘Annie Jr,’ May 8-9

    With only a small number of rehearsals left before Reed Intermediate School students in this year’s musical production of Annie Jr take the stage, Director Sharon Vetrano spoke to the students on Tuesday, April 28, sharing advice and more before the day’s rehearsal.

    The plot of Annie Jr follows a young orphan girl as she searches for a family.

    The performances are set for 7 pm on Friday, May 8, and 6 pm on Saturday, May 9.

  • NHS Prepping For ‘City Of Angels’

    Newtown High School students were busy working after school on Wednesday, February 18, to prepare for the upcoming musical production of City of Angels.

    City of Angels is a musical about a novelist trying to turn a book into a screenplay, and it shows both the plot of the writer’s attempt to create a screenplay and the plot of the fictional film being creating.

  • Drama Club Ready For Two-Show Production Of ‘Willy Wonka’

    The Reed Intermediate School Drama Club will perform its upcoming musical production of Willy Wonka this Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10.

    The Friday performance is at 7 pm, and the Saturday is at 6 pm.

    The play will be performed at the school, 3 Trades Lane.

    Tickets are $8 for general seating and will be available at the door prior to each performance.

    Gina DeCesare and Sharon Vetrano are directing the play.

  • ‘Peter Pan’ Flies Toward March 20–23 Showings

    Newtown High School students involved in the high school’s upcoming production of Peter Pan have been rehearsing for the March 20 to 23 showings of the musical.

    Peter Pan tells the story of a boy who lives in a land called Neverland and never grows up.

    Performances will be Thursday to Saturday, March 20 to 22, at 7 pm; and Sunday, March 23, at 2 pm. Ticket prices are TBA.

  • NMS To Stage ‘Grease: School Version,’ March 14-16; Seniors Invited For Tea & Theater

    Newtown Middle School students have been rehearsing after school for the school’s upcoming musical production of Grease: School Version.

    The school version is an abridged version with content suitable for younger audiences of the musical, which follows the story of teenagers in 1959 through romances and high school.

    Grease: School Version is set to be performed on March 14 at 7 pm, March 15 at 7 pm, and March 16 at 2 pm.
