  • One Newtowner’s Path To Military Service Leads To Israel

    A desire to serve in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has carried 22-year-old Alexander Moliver a long way from his Newtown home to a small apartment outside of Tel-Aviv, Israel. He spends up to three days there with roommates and rotates back to his military base for another 11 days.

  • ‘A Young Israeli Speaks Out,’ December 29 At Adath Israel

    Congregation Adath Israel and The Jewish Federation will present “A Young Israeli Speaks Out,” a talk by Nadav Weijel, on Sunday, December 29, at 2 pm, at Adath Israel

    Mr Weijel was a member of the Israeli Defense Forces for three years, including time patrolling the West Bank. In his 60-minute program, he will offer his views on the Israeli mentality, the challenges of being a soldier, and Israeli perspectives.  Before leaving the army he was chosen to accompany an American Birthright group.
