A joint effort by the Newtown Middle School’s Interact Club and its Student Council collected food items from March 23 to April 30 at the school to donate to the FAITH Food Pantry, a non-ecumenical offering for town residents located at St John’s Episcopal Church in Sandy Hook.
The Interact Club also visited the FAITH Food Pantry on May 6 to donate the collection, tour the facility with food pantry Co-Chair Barbara Krell, and help sort the donated items.

With the money raised by the sale of 100 trees in the holiday season, the Newtown Middle School and Reed Intermediate School Interact Clubs are set to donate $125 to each of 20 foundations in memory of the children who lost their lives 12/14.

Newtown Middle School students had the opportunity last month to attempt to stick technology education teacher Don Ramsey to the wall with duct tape during lunch waves, as part of a fundraiser by the school’s Interact Club for Pennies for Patients.

As a fundraiser for both the Newtown Middle School and Reed Intermediate School Interact Clubs, donated trees will be sold starting Saturday, December 7, for $40 each.
