• The Story of Hanukkah Told At Congregation Adath Israel

    Students from The Nezvesky School For Religious Education, affiliated with Congregation Adath Israel on Huntingtown Road, took part in the congregation’s annual Hanukkah program on Sunday, December 21, in the temple’s sanctuary.

    David Smith, the school’s education chairman, looked on as Dalia Coleman, the school’s director, rehearsed with the students who were about to perform in the Hanukkah program.

  • Congregation Adath Israel Religious School To Host Hanukkah Program

    Congregation Adath Israel’s religious school will hold its annual Hanukkah program on Sunday, December 21, at 10:30 am, in the sanctuary at 115 Huntingtown Road.

    The Adath Israel religious school serves more than 30 children, kindergarten through seventh grade. Grades 4–7 meet twice a week, once on Sunday and once midweek. The preschool program meets once a month.

    Does Newtown have the most polite drivers? We’ll soon find out. NHS Principal Charles Dumais announced this week that the high school will be running a “traffic experiment” the mornings of November 25, November 26, and November 27. The school has coordinated the experiment with the Newtown Police Department, Newtown High School Security, and All-Star Transportation, according to Mr Dumais. During those mornings there will be NO traffic control officer in place.
