    To the Editor,

  • Sixth Annual Firehouse Ride Is September 27

Again this year the sound of motorcycles running in a pack down Route 25 will fill late September’s air.

The sixth annual Firehouse Ride on Sunday, September 27, will support Newtown Hook & Ladder Co. #1’s efforts to build a new firehouse. One hundred percent of funds will benefit this goal. Site work has already begun at 12 Church Hill Road, where the new fire station will be constructed.

  • Firehouse Ride To Continue Hook & Ladder Fundraising Effort

A scenic 50-mile ride through late September weather awaits motorcycle riders and supporters at the 2014 Firehouse Ride. The route, which meanders through surrounding towns, starting and ending at 71 South Main Street in Newtown, is an annual fundraiser for Newtown Hook and Ladder Co #1, which is raising funds for a new firehouse.

    To the Editor:
On Sunday, September 29, 2013 the Newtown Hook and Ladder Co. #1 hosted the Fourth Annual Firehouse Ride. This ride was created in an effort to raise funds for the new construction of a much needed firehouse. We would like thank all the sponsors, riders, donors, neighboring fire companies, and friends who gathered together to support this cause.

With over 125 registered motorcycles, and  a crowd of nearly 300 people, the ride was a huge success, doubling the funds raised in the past.

  • On The Road To A New Firehouse

Kathy Holick tucked a small green and white Sandy Hook rubber duck into her leather jacket. She soon hopped onto her husband Steve’s motorcycle as the two joined the fourth annual Firehouse Ride to support the Newtown Hook and Ladder Co. #1 in its effort to build a new firehouse.

This year’s event, which drew more than 100 motorcycles, and a larger than usual crowd for the pig roast and party that followed, was called The Ride To Remember, also benefiting the Sandy Hook Family Healing Fund.
