McLaughlin Vineyards

  • The Top of the Mountain

State Senator Tony Hwang learned when he was visiting with St Rose of Lima School preschool students, last Friday, that the sand in the “sand box” wasn’t sand at all. St Rose’s brilliant preschool teachers discovered a recipe on Pinterest to make moldable “sand” using flour and baby oil. I looked it up myself, and found the recipe is very simple: eight cups of flour and one cup of baby oil. Not only is the end result moldable, I understand it also softens hands.

  • A Perfect Venue

     To the Editor:

The Garden Club of Newtown would like to thank McLaughlin Vineyards and staff for hosting our Fall Luncheon.

We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue to kick off our garden club year.  This pastoral setting with patio overlooking the vineyard is a real treasure and we highly recommend it for meetings and private events.

  • Top of the Mountain

The first day of school is one of my favorite days each year. It is so full of promise, and my wish is that promise is fulfilled this year. While I would love to be able to make it around to each bus stop to take photos of the town’s smiling (or shaking in their boots) students on Tuesday, August 27, I am only one cat. However, you can share your first day of school photos with The Bee, to run either in print or in a slideshow online.
