2013 Election

  • Please Participate In Government

    To the Editor:

This past election season was “quiet” at the level of the Board of Selectmen, as we three faced no competition. While we appreciated not having to add the burden of campaigning to our already busy work lives, we regret having missed out on the personal interaction that comes with seeking your vote.

  • Open To Questions And Concerns

    To the Editor:

I'd like to thank everyone who came out last week and voted in our local elections.  I'd also like to thank all of you who supported me at the polls and look forward to representing Newtown on the Board of Finance.

Feel free to contact me at jgodin1312@gmail.com if you have any questions, concerns or would like to express an opinion.

    Best regards,

    John Godin

  • Meeting The Needs Of District 3

    To the Editor:

I would like to thank the voters in District 3 for allowing me the privilege of representing their interests on the Legislative Council.

It is always a bit of a leap of faith to select someone new to a position, and I will strive to see that faith rewarded.  There are many initiatives and moving pieces in town at the moment and I will endeavor to see to it that the needs of District 3 are not lost in the shuffle.

  • Thanks To The Voters

    To the Editor:

I would like to say thank you to all of the voters who came out to the polls on Election Day, November 5th.

I am especially honored to be elected to the Planning & Zoning Commission as an alternate and look forward to working with all of the commission members.  I appreciate the opportunity to serve the Newtown community to the best of my ability.

  • The Importance Of Facts And Common Sense

    To the Editor:

I would like to thank Newtown for granting me the opportunity to continue serving on our Legislative Council. I appreciate the support from the District 3 voters, and I look forward to helping our town prosper and grow. Whereas serving as an un-elected official this past year has been a challenging experience, it has primarily been immensely rewarding. I am grateful to be able continue in this role as an elected official.

  • Honored To Serve

    To the Editor:

I am writing to thank all of the voters of Newtown who voted for me last week.   It will be a pleasure to serve all of you for the next two years.

I believe we are at a critical time in our community where we have the ability to work closely together across party lines to be the leaders in our state and across the country by creating a model of fiscal responsibility, social communication and transparency.

  • Appreciative And Hopeful

    To the Editor:

I’m writing to say thank you to the voters of District 1 for allowing me to continue my role as your Democratic Legislative Council representative.  I truly appreciate the opportunity.

To those who didn’t vote for me, I promise do my best to earn your respect and see if maybe next time around I can earn your vote too.
