The young men who achieved this rank during the past 12 months are Daniel Ansari, Jack Benedict, Sam Boland, Tyler Coleman, Chris Erikson, Nicholas Lafky, Karan Marwah, Matt Rosa, Henry Summ, Brandon Unger, and Jonathan Vaughn.

The previous record was six Eagle Scouts in one year, which was set in 2012.

  • Lighthouse And Labyrinth Dedicated

Please note, the song that was sung at the end of the lighthouse dedication on June 14 was called “We Choose Love.” It was written by Darryl Gregory and his students, as a gift to Newtown from Schaghticoke Middle School in New Milford. The caption that accompanies the photo to the right has been updated to reflect that information.

  • Local Scout Creates Labyrinth For Trinity Church; Dedication Friday Night

During a pilgrimage to South Dakota last summer, Jack Benedict, a member of Newtown Troop 270, developed the idea that became his Eagle Scout project. Jack and his friends from Trinity Church visited what he called “a beautiful outdoor labyrinth” in the Black Hills, and Jack felt it would be a great gift to his church and town to create something similar here.
