This is a shopping event that will be helping others get therapy,” said Lauren Morehouse, describing an event she is helping to organize. Called Retail (For) Therapy, a vendor fair will be offered at Julie Allen Bridals on Wednesday, November 5, from 6:30 to 9 pm.

    DANBURY — The Newtown Lions Club and Western Connecticut State University’s Sigma Chi Alumni Association will co-host the second annual Fore Sandy Hook Golf Classic on Monday, June 30, at Richter Park in Danbury. Registration and lunch will begin at noon; tee time is 1:30 pm.

  • Lions Fund Surpasses $60,000 Milestone Covering Post-12/14 Counseling

    Lions Clubs across the nation and here in Newtown are known for their support of community service programs as well as their commitment to helping protect and preserve sight.

    But in the wake of 12/14, the Newtown Lions also exhibited foresight by establishing The Newtown Lions Club Foundation Inc./Sandy Hook Elementary Fund, a fund to help residents, regardless of their economic situation, to cover the cost of mental health counseling sessions and co-pays.
