HARTFORD — US Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) on April 13 introduced The Jesse Lewis Empowering Educators Act to provide teachers powerful tools and training to support students’ social and emotional learning. The bill is named in honor of Jesse Lewis, who at six years old was among the children killed on 12/14. US Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) is a co-sponsor.

The February 12 release of a draft report of Governor Dannel Malloy’s Sandy Hook Advisory Commission has come one day ahead of a meeting where the panel was scheduled to vote on its formal release.

WASHINGTON, DC — Connecticut’s US Senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal along with Newtown’s Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty have introduced new federal legislation that would authorize federal funds to assist with the construction of a new Sandy Hook Elementary School.
