  • National Weather Service: Tornado Hit Fairfield County

    It wasn’t a big one, but Fairfield County was hit by a tornado on Monday, July 1, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

  • Oklahoma Tornado Recovery Collection Reminder

    Residents of Newtown and anyone in the vicinity are reminded that Sandy Hook native John DiCostanzo, and a few friends, will be returning to Oklahoma for the second time since the fatal EF5 tornado of May 20. He and three friends drove to Oklahoma less than a week after that weather event, bringing two large SUVs and two 20-foot trailers filled with supplies to help those in the affected areas.

  • Sending Love Out: From Sandy Hook To Moore

    Four men with direct ties to Sandy Hook, including one current and two former residents, drove to Moore, Okla., within days of a fatal EF5 tornado. “We had an immense amount of love pour into our town in December, and it continues to show up,” said Peter Baressi, second from right. “We need to not feel helpless. We need to share it,” he said, explaining why he and three friends drove 36 hours to deliver two trailers filled with supplies for those affected by the May 20 twister.

    In the wake of 12/14, the Town of Newtown was the beneficiary of overwhelming generosity  from all over the world. The City of Moore, Oklahoma is now suffering terribly. Let us all contribute whatever we can .
