    Huntingtown DUI

    Police said they responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Huntingtown Road, near its intersection with Brushy Hill Road, at about 10 am on February 12.

    Police said that motorist Michael L. Burton, Jr, 19, of 20 Washington Avenue was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer SUV on Huntingtown Road, when it went off the right road shoulder while negotiating a curve in the roadway.

    Police report that while on patrol in Dodgingtown about 2:35 am on January 20, they spotted a utility pole near 3 Hattertown Road that had been struck by a vehicle and had fallen down, bringing down with it some utility lines.

    Sugar Street Crash

    Police report that motorist Angela Evertez, 40, of 47 Poverty Hollow Road was driving a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV westward on Sugar Street, near its intersection with Head O’ Meadow Road, about 2:11 pm on January 3, as motorist Maura Curry, 57, of Redding was driving a 2012 Jeep Wrangler SUV eastward there.

    Four Charges

    Police report a two-vehicle accident on Sugar Street at its intersection with South Main Street, Glover Avenue, and Main Street about 4:18 pm on November 21.

    While waiting a red traffic signal, motorist Raymond Hoesten, 71, of 46 Underhill Road, who was driving a 2010 GMC Acadia SUV, rolled backward and struck the front end of a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-class sedan driven by Sandra Navone, 55, of 165 Hanover Road, police said.

    Gun In Vehicle

    State police report that while traveling in heavy traffic near an accident scene on eastbound Interstate 84, west of Exit 10, at about 8:45 am on November 7, a trucker spotted a man in a vehicle who was holding and loading a handgun while driving.

    Also, there was an 8-year-old girl as a front-seat passenger in that vehicle, state police said.

    Mail Truck

    Police said that at about 11:51 am on November 3, Paul Recine, 40, of Seymour, who was driving a 1987 Grumann US Mail delivery truck, stopped near 24 Toddy Hill Road to deliver some mail, after which the mail truck was hit from behind by motorist Alexci Piche Lopez, 43, of Sedro-Wolley, Wash., who was driving a 2001 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

    Taunton Hill DUI

    Motorist Connor Pineau, 21, of 47 Waterview Drive was driving a 2007 Jeep Wrangler SUV near 133 Taunton Hill Road about 10:15 pm on October 19, when the Jeep went off the road and struck a utility pole, resulting in utility lines dropping, police report.

    Pineau was not injured. Police said they charged Pineau with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn. Pineau was released on $200 bail for a November 4 court appearance, police said.

    Multiple Charges

    Police report that at about 9 am on October 5, they responded to a gas station at 47 Church Hill Road where they learned that a fuel theft had occurred in which a man had put approximately $30 worth of fuel into a 1994 Mack truck without paying for that fuel.

    Police report they conducted surveillance at various local package stores on Saturday, September 13, as part of their participation in the Stop Underage Drinking and Sales (SUDS) alcohol enforcement project.

    Police said that at about 8:45 pm, they spotted a teenage male walk into the Rooster Wines & Liquors package store at 113 South Main Street.

    Police received a complaint about noon on September 15 in which a female told them that she was running on Dinglebrook Lane that day, near the Brookfield town line, when a passing southbound male motorcyclist made intentional physical contact with her using his hand. The female was not injured, police said.
