• With NEASC Visit Underway, BOE Hears Update

    Superintendent of Schools Joseph V. Erardi, Jr, shared a brief update with the Board of Education during its meeting on Tuesday, October 6, about this week’s visit to Newtown High School by representatives for the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

    “I remain very positive that the end result will be a celebration within that building,” said Dr Erardi, after explaining the NEASC representatives had arrived on Sunday, October 4.

  • High School Prepares For Approaching NEASC Visit

    As the Board of Education heard during a presentation at its September 1 meeting, years of work will culminate with a visit representatives of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) next month.

    “I’m really excited to be a part of this process with such an outstanding school and a dedicated staff who have put in such a great deal of time and energy and enthusiasm over the last few years,” said NHS Principal Lorrie Rodrigue.

  • Accrediting Agency Schedules 2015 Visit To The High School

    In recent budget cycles, Newtown High School has prioritized needed preparations for an anticipated 2015 New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC) visit, including additional teaching positions.

    Newtown High School Principal Charles Dumais said on Friday, August 30, the date of that visit has finally been announced.

  • NEASC Kickoff Dinner At The High School

    A dinner was held in the Newtown High School cafetorium on Monday, April 29, as a kickoff for the high school’s preparation for its New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) scheduled 2015 visit.

    Before that visit, which could come at any time in 2015, a NEASC Steering Committee will be working toward completing a self-study and preparing the school. NEASC is a regional accrediting association that establishes standards for all levels of education.
