  • Lions Hand Over 12/14 Fund Administration; Will Continue Fundraising

    The Newtown Lions Club Foundation has formally announced it has ceased directly administering benefits to providers and individuals through a fund established following the 12/14 tragedy.

    Earlier this year, the local Lions joined in a partnership with Newtown Rotary Club, Newtown Memorial Fund, and United Way of Western Connecticut as a means to pool resources and maximize distribution efficiency.

  • UWWC, Newtown Rotary Joined By Newtown Memorial Fund For Immediate Needs Fund

    Shortly after the events of 12/14, The Rotary Club of Newtown, United Way of Western Connecticut (UWWC) and the Office of Victim Services (OVS) worked together to develop the Immediate Needs Fund.

  • Applications Being Accepted For Sandy Hook Workers Assistance Fund

    Pursuant to Special Act 13-1, the Judicial Branch’s Office of Victim Services has begun accepting applications for the Sandy Hook Workers Assistance Program. The fund is intended to provide immediate financial help for emergency responders, medical and mental health professionals, and Sandy Hook Elementary School employees who suffered a mental or emotional impairment because of 12/14. 
    The General Assembly enacted the special act earlier this year; it became effective April 1.

  • A Special Concert Of Holiday Music

    The New Baroque Soloists, with special guest the soprano Susan Consoli, will perform “A Festive Holiday Concert of Chamber Music” at Trinity Episcopal Church on Friday, December 28.
