    Performed poetry is even older than theater, and Robert González imagines and recreates what poetry was like delivered from a stage to an audience — just the pure language and people to listen to it. Town Players will welcome Robert González in a solo stage performance of great and beloved poems on Sunday, July 12, at 7:30 pm, at The Little Theatre, 18 Orchard Hill Road in Newtown.

    Congratulations to rising NHS senior Mackenzie Page, who, in recognition of her fundraising efforts for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp through The Great Pumpkin Challenge, was honored as an honorary co-chair at the Travelers Championship golf tournament, in Cromwell, this past weekend. She was selected as one of just four people who support charity in remarkable ways. Mackenzie has raised nearly $10,000 throughout the years. Think of all the catnip I could get with that.   • Donation Day Bolsters The Book Sale

    The Friends of C.H. Booth Library held its annual Spring Donation Day event on Sunday, April 7. It was a pleasure to spend the gorgeous spring day greeting the stream of generous towns' people bringing boxes, bags, and trunk loads of books, CDs, DVDs, books on CD, records, and puzzles for donation.
